It is my pleasure to offer you this genuine handpainted Art Nouveau CANDLE HOLDER produced by Goedewaagen in a limited edition of 999 pieces. This candle stick has been designed by Sander Alblas who was and still is is a leading designer at Goedewaagen. The model is based on a masterpiece by Klaas Vet (1876-1943) of Purmerend. He was a cofounder of the Purmerend Stoneware factory and later of the Arnhem Faïence Factory. It is an exciting alternative for the thin designs of the Rozenburg porcelain.
Each piece is numbered and signed by the artist. The bottom shows the pattern name AMATA, The Royal Goedewaage Factory Logo, the mould# 2456/24, and the sequence# 28 of 999, yearmark and the painters initials MG.
For this item Goedewaagen used special mixtures of clay from the south of England (Cornwall), Westerwald in Germany and from Norway. The unique baking process in the computer controlled kilns ensures that it will remain absolutely free of crazing. Therefore also the future generations will also enjoy these Art Nouveau objets d'art.
